Our JV Gold defeated Georgetown 5-1 in their scrimmage. They play this Thursday @ 5:30 pm in Lampasas. Great win!

Westlake High School Scrimmage
JV Gold Loses to Westlake
Stony Point JV Gold lost to Austin Westlake JV 6 to 16 in a close contest. It was 0-0 at the end of the first quarter, before Westlake took an early 8-0 second quarter lead. Stony Point bounced back with a 65 yard drive capped my a Mark Acosta 6 yard run but the 2 point try failed. Westlake lead at half 8 to 6. Stony Point opened up the second half with a 10 minute drive but turned it over in the endzone. The defense held and Stony Point got the ball back on their own 12 yard line but a fumble stopped the drive and Westlake punched in on a 5 play 12 yard drive. Several players had some outstanding moments with Julian Gonzalez leading the defense.

JV Gold Wins in Shutout
The Stony Point JV Gold raced to a 20-0 win over Austin High Wednesday night. Offensively there was plenty to go around with 3 different Tigers scoring. Early in the second Mark Acosta punched in a 1 yard run that was set up by a long Jevan Neil run. The kick failed. The defense held and the offense scored again as the first half time ran out. This score came on a 37 yard pass from Michael Rybski to Keith Kaase. Fernando Guitieriez kicked the extra point. The last score came on Frankie Gauna run. Fernanco Guitieriez kicked the extra point. The defense chipped in with two fumble recovories that were caused by TO Odunaiya and Stephen Guzman.

Killeen Ellison High School
JV Gold Wins vs Ellison
The Stony Point Gold JV football team got their second shut out in a row in a 14-0 win against Killeen Ellison Thursday night. The Tigers got two touchdowns by Jevan Neil with extra points being kicked by Fernando Guitieriez. Elijah Arnold had two big catches, one that set up a Neil touchdown and another touchdown that was called back. Defensively, several Tigers chipped in with Julian Gonzlez leading the team in tackles. Stephen Guzman had a fumble recovery and Darryl Coleman set up the offense on a couple of long punt returns. The Gold will be taking on McNeil next Thursday.

Our Gold group dropped one 33-13 last night to fall to 2-2 for the year. They look to get back on the winning track next week vs Round Rock @ Dragon Stadium.

JV Gold Comes Up Short
The Stony Point Gold Tigers dropped their second game in a row to Round Rock High Thursday night. The gold team had one 3rd quarter score on a Frankie Gaunna run and Fernando Guitierrez followed with the extra point. The game was a 14 to 7 game into the fourth quarter when Round Rock turned a 3rd and long screen into a 65 yard touchdown.

Cedar Park High School
JV Gold Defeats Cedar Park
Stony Point Gold JV Team played an outstanding game and pulled off a big win against Cedar Park 14 to 7. The defense played an amazing game led by the defensive line up front. Stephen Guzman recovered a big time fumble and Darrel Coleman had an interception. Cedar Park did not score a point against the Tiger's defense as the only touchdown came on a special teams mishap. Offensively, the Tigers had huge performances by Frankie Gauna and Jevan Neil. Neil had an early touchdown in the first quarter and then clinched the game with a dive in the end zone with 20 seconds left to clinch the victory. Fernando Gutieriez was 2 for 2 on extra point tries and continues to do a great job of kicking for the Tigers.

Leander High School
JV Gold Falls Short
The Stony Point Gold Tigers dropped to 3 and 4 Thursday night in a 20-29 loss to Leander. Stony Point scored on runs from Jevan Neil and Frankie Gaunna, and on a Keith Kaase pass from Frankie Gaunna. Kaleb Hadenfeldt had some big catches that set up a couple of those touchdowns. The offensive line had a good night giving Gaunna plenty of time to complete some crucial 3rd down throws. The defense had good performances from Tai Odunaiya, Josh Pitre, and Daryl Coleman. The Gold will be in Pflugerville next Thursday at 5:30 p.m.

JV Gold vs. Pflugerville
The Stony Point Gold beat Pflugerville 20-18 scoring the winning touchdown with 36 seconds. The offense got their first touchdown of the game on a 59 yard hitch and pitch from Frankie Gauna to Keith Kaase to Jevan Neil. The offense scored their final two touchdowns in the fourth quarter on a 1 yard QB by Frankie Gauna adn a 30 yard Gauna run. Both touchdowns were set up by some excellent runs from Mark Acosta. There were also a few great catches along the way. The offensive line did a great job down the stretch. The defense was lead by Daryl Coleman who had 2 interceptions, including one with 10 seconds left to seal the game. Mike Dixon had an excellent game along with linebacker Alfonso Royal and defensive ends Paul Ortega and Patrick Lawrence. The win brings the Gold teams record to 4-4 with a home game against Georgetown next Thursday at 5:30 p.m.

JV Gold Gets a Victory vs. Georgetown
The Stony Point JV Gold Tigers upped their record to 5-4 with a 34-0 shutout against Georgetown Thursday night. The Tigers got 2 touchdowns from Jevan Neil, a touchdown from Tevin Earthman, and 2 from Frankie Gauna. Gauna also had two 2-point conversions. The offensive line did an outstanding job all night as Stony Point consistently ripped off double digit runs. The defense got its third shut out of the year with Jevan Neil ending the game with an interception. The defense got great performances from Daryl Coleman, Paul Ortega, and Mark Frank. There were several others that chipped in as well. The Gold will wrap up their season next Thursday at 5:30 p.m vs. Round Rock Westwood at the RRISD Complex.

JV Gold vs. Westwood
The Stony Point Gold wrapped up their season with a 34-21 win over Round Rock Westwood. The win brought their record to 6-4 overall and 4-3 in district. The team was lead by Frankie Gauna who had 3 touchdowns and 2 two-point conversions. Tevin Earthman added a touchdown and Keith Kaase had a touchdown reception from Jevan Neil. The offensive line had another outstanding night as the offense moved the ball up and down the field. Juan Rangel had 1 interception. The Stony Point Gold coaches would like to thank all the parents and fans for their great support all year long.
