Freshman Blue/Gold vs. A&M Consolidated High School Scrimmage
Our 1st team won 5-1 vs A&M Friday. We looked good on offense overall. Our defense made big plays at opportune times to shut them out. Our 2nd group won 3-0 and played well. Our JV Blue won 4-1 and looked good. Our Gold tied 1-1. Our Freshman. looked good winning 6-4 and our Freshman White looked good vs Temple's B team. We play Alamo Heights this Thursday @ 7:00pm at the Palace and Friday our Freshman are at home @ 5:30pm and 7:15pm. We have had good practices and are excited to see where we are at in non-district versus a good Alamo Heights ball club.

Freshman Blue vs Alamo Heights
Freshman Blue Wins 14-8
The Tiger offense struck on the second play of the season as Dustin Beasley scampered 72 yards to paydirt. Beasley hooked up with Cedric Chandler from 6 yards out in the second quarter and then connected with Taylor Williamson for the 2-point conversion. Monte Warner was solid at running back for the Tigers. The Stony Point defense made a number of solid plays to thwart the Mule attack, none bigger than Brian Jaquet's interception in the Tiger red zone to seal the win. Makeba Henderson, Kevin Gardenhire, and Brian Baker led the defensive attack with plenty of big hits. Paul Ross collected a fumble on a kickoff to lead the special team effort.
Our Blue group squeaked out a victory vs San Antonio's Alamo Heights 14-8. The defense did well and the offense moved the ball for most of the night. Great Job!

Freshman Blue vs Pflugerville Connally High School
Blue Go to 2-0
The Tiger offense grabbed an early lead on a Dustin Beasley 67-yard touchdown scamper on the game's second play from scrimmage. Charlie Waters added the PAT. The speedy Cougar quarterback gave the Stony Point Tiger defensive units fits while Connally grabbed a considerable advantage in time of possession. Following a Kevin Gardenhire fumble recovery at the beginning of the second half, Eyvantae Howard scored on a 12-yard run to give the Tigers the lead for good. The Stony Point defense worked hard to protect the lead and came up big on 2-point PAT attempt in the final minutes of the game to seal the win. Brian Jacquet and Jordan Lloyd each had interceptions to lead the Tiger defense.
Our Blue team denied a two-point conversion to win over Pflugerville Connally 13-12. The defense played outstanding for the night and our offense still needs work. Great win. Great Job!!

Freshman Blue vs Waco ISD
Freshman Blue Now 3-0
The Tigers improved to 3-0 with a 22-6 road victory over the Waco Lions. Dustin Beasly hooked up with Tae Howard for a 12-yard touchdown pass to cap off a 7-minute game opening drive. The Tiger defense picked up where it left off last week stifling the Lion offensive attack. Datrick Edwards connected with Sedrick Chandler for a 38-yard score in the second quarter. Stony Point's final tally came late in the third period when Monte Warner snagged a Beasley pass and hurried 36-yards to paydirt. Isaac Chavarria hauled in the 2-point pass from Edwards.
Taylor Williamson and Makeba Henderson each collected fumbles for Stony Point. Darius Davis and Brian Jacquet were top defenders for the Tigers.
Our Blue team won over Waco 22-6 and continues to play better each game. Our offense was much better and the defense was outstanding. We are open next week. Great Job!!!

Freshman Blue vs Westwood
Freshman Blue Now 4-0
The Tigers came out on top of a see-saw district 16-5A opener with Westwood 28-27. Tae Howard rumbled in from 6 yards out and then added the 2-point run to get the offense rolling. Dustin Beasley hooked up with Taylor Williamson for a 21-yard TD strike just before half-time. Beasley returned the opening kickoff of the second half 82 yards to paydirt. Monte Warner scampered in from 12 yards out for the final Tiger tally. Beasley delivered a hard fought 2-point run that ultimately was the difference in the contest. Nick Mead, Adam Munoz, Jeff Maxwell, Bobby Hopp, and Conner Collins steamrolled the Westwood defenders to provide running lanes for the Tiger backfield.
Darius Davis intercepted a Warrior pass in the Tiger end zone to thwart a Westwood scoring opportunity. Tyler White was a force for the Tiger defenders.

Our Blue group fought back from a 13-0 deficit to win their 4th game this year 28-27. Our offense did very well and controlled the game most of the 4th quarter. Our defense struggled with their passing game but came through when needed. This group is now 4-0!

Freshman Blue vs Leander
Freshman Blue Now 4-1
The Tigers suffered their first loss of the 2008 campaign at Leander by a score of 20-8. Dustin Beasley connected with Taylor Williamson from 8 yards out and then hooked up with him again for the two point conversion to bring the score to 14-8 in the third quarter. The Tiger offense moved the ball well but could not manage to score the necessary points against a tough Lion defensive unit.
Darius Davis highlighted a hard fought Stony Point defensive effort with a pair of fumble recoveries. Makeba Henderson, Kevin Gardenhire, and Brian Baker were the leading Tiger defenders.

The Blue group lost to Leander 20-8 in a game where we moved the ball but could not get it in the end zone. The defense did not perform as well as it had and that was the difference in the game. We are now 4-1.

Freshman Blue vs Georgetown
Freshman Blue Now 5-1
Tae Howard punched in a 1-yard touchdown run to cap off an 11-play game-opening drive. Datrick Edwards connected with Tyler White for the 2-point play. The offense rarely slowed down after that. Dustin Beasley scored on runs of 5 and 52 yards. Howard hauled in a 38-yard TD strike from Edwards and scampered in from 34 yards for his third touchdown of the game. Edwards added a 2-point run and connected with Taylor Williamson for a 58-yard score. Monte Warner added a 2-point run.
Darius Davis blocked an Eagle punt. Austin Massey recorded an interception. Brian Baker blocked an Eagle extra point. Makeba Henderson and Kevin Gardenhire met at the Eagle quarterback to record a sack. Scottie Tatum, Brian Jacquet, and Cedrick Chandler were solid in the Tiger secondary vs. the Eagle passing attack.

Our Blue group improved to 5-1 for the year with a dominating 42-13 performance. Both sides of the ball played well. Great Job!!!!!

Freshman Blue vs McNeil
Freshman Blue Now 6-1
Dustin Beasley had a huge night for the Tigers as they rolled over the McNeil Mavericks 31-7. Beasley scored on touchdown runs of 29, 42, 3, and 32 yards and then connected with Monte Warner for a 6-yard TD pass. Damian Bustillos added an extra point. Credit the Tiger offensive line for opening holes in the Maverick defensive unit. Also credit Wesley Spelbring and Cedric Chandler for solid blocking from the receiver position. Matt Olsen had a big reverse run to set up one of the Tiger touchdowns. Isaac Chavarria hauled in a 40-yard pass from Beasley to set up another.
Brian Baker led a hard-hitting Stony Point defensive attack. Curtis Rugely, Austin Massey, and Kevin Gardenhire were outstanding at the linebacker position. Rykeem Cook, Jonathan Midkiff, and Makeba Henderson were solid in the defensive line. Kyle Toruta, Scotty Tatum, and Bryan Jacquet covered the Maverick receivers like a blanket. Darius Davis and Tyler White each collected fumbles and Jonathan Martinez caused one.

The Blue group won 31-7 vs. McNeil in dominating fashion. The offense was explosive behind great blocking and the defense played very well. We are now 6-1 for the year. Great Job!!!!!!

Freshman Blue vs Cedar Park
Freshman Blue Lose Tough One
Tiger turnovers proved costly as the Timberwolves spoiled the Tiger freshman homecoming game 26-20. Tae Howard scored on runs of 6 and 12 yards and Dustin Beasley added a 2-point run.
Rykeem Cook recovered two Cedar Park fumbles, the first in the end zone for the Tigers first score. Kevin Gardenhire and Brian Baker each caused fumbles. Curtis Rugely recovered a pair of fumbles. Darius Davis also recovered a fumble. Brian Jaquet blocked a Timberwolf extra point. Makeba Henderson and Jonathon Midkiff were solid for the Tiger defensive line.

Our Blue team gave up an easy TD right before the half and the go ahead one with little time remaining to lose 26-20. We had too many turnovers to win this game, as well as mistakes. We will try and get back on track next week vs Vista Ridge. We are now 6-2.

Freshman Blue vs Vista Ridge
Freshman Blue Win versus Vista Ridge 38-0
Matt Olsen scampered in for a 6-yard TD run to get the Tiger offense rolling in an impressive 38-0 win over the Vista Ridge Rangers. Charlie Waters drilled the extra point. Dustin Beasley rattled off touchdown runs of 59 and 27 yards to finish the first quarter scoring for Stony Point. Monte Warner scored the Tigers only 2nd quarter touchdown with a 15-yard TD run and Waters added the PAT. Beasley scored from 35 yards out to wrap up the Tigers first drive of the second half. Tae Howard got in on the scoring action with a 16-yard 4th quarter touchdown run. The Tiger defensive unit was impressive in the shutout effort. Darius Davis and Dustin Plattor each hauled in interceptions. Kevin Gardenhire forced a Ranger fumble and Tyler White collected it for Stony Point.

The Blue team won over Vista Ridge 38-0 in a dominant fashion. We scored 3 TD's in the 1st Quarter to cruise to the victory. We are now 7-2 for the year. Great Job!!!!!!!

Freshman Blue vs Round Rock
Freshman Blue Drop a Close One 21-20
The Tiger offense was sharp early as Dustin Beasley scored from 5 yards out and Damian Bustillos drilled the extra point to wrap up the first series. Monte Warner rumbled in from 5 yards out to finish the team's second series. Bustillos added the extra point again. Beasley ripped off an 80-yard TD run early in the second half to wrap up the Tiger scoring. Scott Tatum recorded an interception. Curtis Rugely recovered a fumble caused by Rykeem Cook. The Tigers finished the season 7-3.

Our Blue group did not convert on their last TD to lose 21-20 to Round Rock. This team fought very hard and came up short. We finished 7-3 for the year! Great job!!!!!!!
