General Photo Guidelines and Content
Please use the correct date and time in your camera. This is very important for managing the photos.
Photos should include only game and spirit images as publicly viewed in the stadiums and surrounding campus areas. Photos taken on busses, in locker rooms, or other areas should limits to the general public may be accepted on a case by case basis.
Although game action shots are the primary focus of our photo sets, feel free to include images of pre- and post-game celebrations, special occasions (Meet the Tiger), and other shots that capture the story of the season. Pictures of our fans and the Blue Crew have been some of the most popular photos posted. Definitely include pictures of your favorite player, but also try to include others that will be of interest to the wider audience of our website.
No photos of serious injuries, ambulances, stretchers, etc. Photos of trainers and coaches assisting with very minor injuries are usually acceptable on a case by case basis.
No photos depicting personal embarrassment of a player, fan, or spirit group. Situations include, but are not limited to, sickness, “wardrobe” malfunctions, cheerleaders, dancers, or others in awkward positions, and intense coaching of an individual player.
Photos of competitive embarrassment are acceptable (game mistakes, fumbles, missed tackles, etc.).
Do capture a few pictures of highly recruited players from the opposing team. Some athletes we compete against will go on to great college or NFL careers. It's fun for our guys to see who they've lined up against.
Finally: Win or lose, get a picture of the final score!
We recommend that you watermark the bottom of your images with the year and your name. It's also recommended that you identify yourself as the copyright holder in the "Owner" and "Copyright" (or similar) metadata fields of your images. This can be accomplished by nearly any photo processing software. See the example of a watermarked image in this section.
